Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female signing to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The label released her first EP titled Pho in October 2016, and she was able to gain recognition. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012, when she released her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. The track Sweat it is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time was interested in having her perform on Rihanna reference. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December.
